For a smooth identity verification process, it is important that you make sure that the information entered is accurate and complete.
Why does Dwolla need my social security number?
We partner with Dwolla to securely process your account activity on WILLPORT and prevent fraud. Dwolla uses your Social Security Number as a part of its identity verification process.
Most of the time, Dwolla will only need the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number.
In some cases, Dwolla will determine that it requires additional information to verify your identity and you will need to enter your entire Social Security Number.
Why do I need to provide additional information to verify my account?
Note: WILLPORT will never ask you for your Social Security Number. This information is only processed by Dwolla during the identity verification process.
Why do I need to provide additional information - like my full Social Security Number - to verify my account?
Dwolla generates an identity verification score based upon the data that you submit during this verification process. If Dwolla determines that your initial identity verification score is low, additional steps to verify your identity may be required:
Step 1: If Dwolla is unable to verify your identity using the last four of your Social Security Number is insufficient to verify your identity, Dwolla will require the full 9-digits to be provided. You should also review the information that you provided to ensure that you have not made any mistakes on the registration form.
Step 2: If Dwolla is still unable to verify your identity, you will need to upload additional proof of your identity. You will need to upload a colored scan of a government issued Photo ID to be reviewed by Dwolla. This review will take up to 2 business days. Once this process is complete, you will be notified whether your identity was able to be verified and your registration request is approved or rejected.
What are the requirements to register for WILLpay?
WILLPay is available to all the users in the United States who are above 18 years or older.
In order to register for WILLPay, you’ll need:
A smartphone running Android 9.0+ or iOS 13 and above
An Internet connection and a cellphone number that will allow you to receive SMS (text message) message.
A valid Social Security Number
US bank account to add funds in or transfer from WILLPay
Before you can send money, your email, cellphone number, and SSN will be verified.
Why is my verification still pending?
Most verifications are processed within a couple of minutes of submission. However, some verifications are sent for manual review and require up to 12 hours to be reviewed.
